Housing Officers

Housing Officers are assigned seven days a week to the police substations in all Johnstown Housing Authority (JHA) communities as a means of crime prevention. The JHA maintains a no-tolerance rule in its Solomon, Coopersdale, Prospect, and Oakhurst communities pertaining to criminal activity. Housing officers conduct background checks on all JHA applicants. Serious previous criminal convictions such as drug possession or distribution prevent applicants from receiving residency.

Furthermore, monthly meetings are held with each community’s tenant council to educate and build relationships with the residents.
